The Power of Thoughts 🧠 Have you ever noticed how a single thought can change your whole day? Thoughts are incredibly powerful. They're like the background music of our lives, setting the tone for how we feel and what we do. Sometimes they’re upbeat and helpful, pushing us to do our best. Other times, they're a bit downbeat, making everything seem harder than it is. It's all about noticing these thoughts and understanding how they shape our moods and actions.
Feelings: More Than Just Emotions 😀😔☹️😣😖😤😩😭🤯😝😁🥰😌 Our feelings are our heart’s response to what's going on around us—and inside us. They're like a compass, showing us how we're reacting in the moment. Whether it's joy at a friend's success or anxiety from an unexpected bill, our emotions paint the picture of our inner world.
Behaviours: The Things We Do 🗣️ And then there's what we do about those thoughts and feelings—our behaviours. Every action, from shouting with excitement to quietly withdrawing, tells a story about what’s going on inside us. It's fascinating how much you can learn about someone (or yourself!) just by watching the things they do.
Let me paint you a picture with a simple example: Imagine you’re driving and see a police car behind you.
Thought: "Uh-oh, a cop." Feeling: Your heart skips a beat. Behaviour: You immediately tap those brakes and check your speed.
This little sequence happens to us all the time. It shows how our thoughts and feelings can quickly influence our actions, even if we're not fully aware of it.
I love this stuff because it shows that if we can tweak one part of this thought-feeling-action chain, we can often see big changes in how we handle things. Maybe by understanding our feelings better, we can change our actions. Or by adjusting our actions, we might start to feel differently.
This kind of insight isn't just theory; it's a practical tool we can all use to handle life’s ups and downs more effectively. By becoming more aware of how intertwined our thoughts, feelings, and actions are, we can live more intentionally and supportively 💜
I attended a workshop you had on this recently! Very helpful info! Thank you again!!!!
